PRODUCT FEATURES
With a clear, crisp display and a simple user interface, the Trig radio offers some great features: The “Dual Watch” feature lets you monitor two frequencies at the same time. There are 9 preset channel memories that are easy to select.
Trig's compact radio holds EASA ETSO and FAA TSO approval and can therefore be used worldwide. Our “Push Step” feature provides the fastest tuning in its class - three times faster in an 8.33 environment! For customers who do not need 8.33 kHz channel spacing, this feature can be disabled, allowing quick selection between 50 kHz and 25 kHz steps. This allows rapid frequency changes while still providing fine tuning in 25 kHz steps when needed.
Trig radios also feature a high-quality built-in two-place intercom with an auxiliary input, saving further cost and weight.
GPS COMPATIBILITY
The radio can be integrated with popular GPS units; this allows en-route radio frequencies to be displayed automatically. The radio can also be controlled from an EFIS display using the standard SL40 and GTR225 protocols. This unique capability integrates your Trig radio with other avionics and gives the user real flexibility.
PRODUCT DESIGN
The innovative use of a control head and a separate radio hardware unit offers more installation options, especially where space is limited. The control head can be conveniently mounted in a 57 mm (2 ¼”) round hole, or in an even smaller compact mounting. Mounting is simple, and once installed, the radio control head is only 74 mm (3”) deep. In practice, this means the compact Trig control head can be fitted in an aircraft panel where a “single box” radio simply won't fit. The compact radio is the ideal communication partner for our compact Mode S transponder (1090 ES ADS-B Out transponders).
PUSH STEP
The compact radio's display is clear and bright, showing both the active and standby frequencies. A “Push Step” button gives the fastest change between 8.33 kHz and 25 kHz - so you can tune the radio quickly without compromising your lookout. The Dual Watch feature lets you monitor two frequencies at the same time - it's like having two radios in one.
HEADSETS
The Trig compact radio's two-place intercom is optimized for use with standard aviation headsets - a number of adjustments allow the radio to be used successfully in noisy aircraft. The compact radio also has a built-in speaker amplifier that can drive an external speaker, which some glider pilots prefer. If you use a dynamic microphone with a Trig radio, please note that a powered adapter will be required.
