Description

TX56A model – Trig P/N 01955-00-01. 10 W transmit power, 760 channels (25 kHz), 11–33 V supply. 8.33 kHz channel spacing is mandatory in Europe: this 760-channel version is intended for use outside Europe. Complete system: unit, mounting tray, installation kit, manuals and EASA Form 1. This page describes the TX56 / TX57 Nav/Com range.

Slim and highly efficient, the Nav/Com is housed in a beautifully designed unit. At just 33 mm high, it saves valuable panel space while offering an impressive range of practical features for every pilot.

Whether you are a VFR pilot wanting VOR navigation backup, a flight school looking for an easy-to-use training platform, or a serious VFR/IFR operator seeking dependable digital capability, Trig's “better by design” approach has produced a Nav/Com that meets all these needs – it will enhance your navigation and communication throughout every phase of flight.

The TX56 product family is available with 8.33 kHz channel spacing or conventional 25 kHz spacing, with 10 or 16 watts of transmit power. The TX56A and TX57A are 760-channel versions (not 8.33 kHz, for use outside Europe).

All four versions (TX56, TX56A, TX57 and TX57A) are available in our shop.

PRODUCT FEATURES

The Nav/Com display is clear and bright, showing active and standby frequencies along with airfield/VOR identifiers. A “Push Step” knob provides the fastest change from 8.33 kHz to 25 kHz steps (TX56/TX57) or from 25 kHz to 50 kHz (TX56A/TX57A). You can tune the Nav/Com quickly without compromising your lookout. Dual Watch lets you monitor two Com or Nav frequencies at the same time – it's like having a second radio.

SAY AGAIN

The radio features a “Say Again” function. A single press of a button replays the last radio transmission. It's ideal for student pilots, but any pilot can get distracted – and it saves the embarrassment of asking ATC to repeat a message.

VOR

The Nav receiver is optimized for stress-free operation. The TX56 and TX57 decode Morse to identify VORs or ILS. The Nav receiver can monitor a second VOR, which greatly improves en-route navigation. This means a backup VOR radial can be displayed alongside the main VOR, allowing the pilot to quickly work out an accurate position fix.

BUILT-IN CDI

The unit's display includes a graphical CDI (Course Deviation Indicator), allowing the pilot to navigate without an external CDI. The TX56 also supports various display options using a range of external cockpit instruments.

Once tuned, the Nav receiver can identify the station by decoding its Morse identifier, automatically identifying the selected VOR. Auto-centering of the CDI needle displays a direct bearing to the selected VOR for easier navigation, while the To/From button lets you display the inbound or outbound radial.

PRODUCT DESIGN

The Nav/Com's understated design requires no external cooling fan. Its compact size and features make it an excellent choice for both forward-fit and retrofit installations. Each Nav/Com is designed to integrate easily with legacy products, including the popular SL30, which is the same height as a TX56. Customers replacing older KX155 and KX165 models will easily fit a TX56 into their stack; in all cases, a TX56 tray will need to be installed.
